01 -
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a glass or ceramic baking dish (approximately 7x9 inches).
02 -
Separate each biscuit in half horizontally. Arrange bottom halves evenly in the baking dish and bake for 5 minutes to prevent sogginess.
03 -
Heat a small amount of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook gently for about 5 minutes until translucent, stirring occasionally.
04 -
Add ground beef to the skillet with onions. Break up the meat and cook until no longer pink with browned spots. Drain excess fat.
05 -
Stir in Montreal steak seasoning and adjust with salt or extra seasoning if needed.
06 -
Spread the hot beef and onion mixture evenly over the parbaked biscuit bottoms. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cover with remaining biscuit halves, pressing gently into the filling.
07 -
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until biscuit tops are golden and cheese is bubbly. Check at 20 minutes to avoid overbaking.
08 -
Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with optional condiments such as ketchup, pickles, or burger sauce.
