01 -
Place the chicken breasts in a large mixing bowl. Season both sides evenly with black pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, and salt. Drizzle with olive oil and rub to coat the chicken thoroughly with oil and spices.
02 -
Preheat the air fryer to 360°F for 3 to 5 minutes to ensure it is adequately heated before cooking.
03 -
Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 10 minutes, then flip and continue cooking for an additional 10 minutes. Adjust cooking time depending on the weight of the chicken breasts.
04 -
Using a meat thermometer, insert into the thickest part of the chicken breast. Temperature should reach 159°F to 161°F. If below this range, return the chicken to the air fryer and allow it to rest in residual heat for a few minutes before rechecking.
05 -
Remove chicken from the air fryer and place on a cutting board. Cover loosely with foil or another plate and let rest for 10 to 15 minutes to allow juices to redistribute and reach the safe final temperature of 165°F.
06 -
Once rested, serve immediately or store in an airtight container for meal prep.
